From Anchorage to Fairbanks to Seward to Denali, there is no shortage of photo ops in Alaska! I visited in September 2021 and felt like it was the absolute perfect time to visit. Temperatures were still mild and the summer crowds are long gone. You can take in all the beautiful fall colors and even see the northern lights! Even though I expected Alaska to be beautiful, it completely blew my mind. It was a hundred times better than I could ever imagine! If a trip to Alaska isn’t on your bucket list, it deserves a spot on the top. Here are 15 photos to inspire you to visit Alaska!

An early winter drive through Denali National Park. After the summer, the road opens up as far as conditions allow for you to self-drive through the park!

Beluga Point is the perfect stop for incredible photos just south of Anchorage. Keep your eyes peeled in the summer months for beluga whales!

A quick stop off the Seward Highway you’ll find the picturesque Mad Sally Lake. A great place to stretch your legs along the long drive.

An easy hike straight into the Chugach Mountains out to Byron Glacier.

A slow and stunning cruise through Spire Cove in Resurrection Bay. While on your cruise through Kenai Fjords National Park, put in a special request to your boat captain to add this to your tour. It’s a must-see!

Views of the famous Aialik Glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park. The glacier is over three miles wide!

Plan your visit between mid-August through mid-April to increase your chances of seeing the Northern Lights! Fairbanks is widely known to be one of the best places in the world to see the aurora!

Views from the top of Mount Alyeska. An aerial tram takes you to the top of the mountain in just 4 and a half minutes!

Views from the bay just outside of the town of Seward, Alaska. Stupid beautiful.

Soaking in all the fall colors along the drive from Anchorage to Fairbanks. It’s about a six hour drive up Parks Highway, but a stop in Denali National Park helps to break it up!

The feeling of vast remoteness at Beluga Point.

No visit to Fairbanks is complete without a day at Chena Hot Springs. A stop at their ice museum (and sipping an appletini at their ice bar) is an absolute must!

Up close and personal with glaciers at the end of the Byron Glacier trail. More seasoned hikers can continue up the mountain to the ice caves!

A hidden gem, hiking out to South Fork (Barbara) Falls is a great way to get out of town and up close and personal with the cascading falls.
